Data Acquisition system

A crucial part of a Calibration Management system is it underlying data-acquisition subsystem.

Spirit FC offers the Flow-X series flow computers; a new generation measurement hardware with special circuitry to cater for the high quality time/pulse measurement inputs as is needed in a high performance CMS.

The variety of inputs of a single stream Flow-X/M module is designed for the measurement of field signals in a typical metering application.

In each Flow-X/M module there are six (6) analog inputs with an uncertainty of 0.008% over the full temperature range of 0°C-60°C, of which two (2) inputs can be selected as RTD (PT100) inputs, and four (4) of the inputs can be configured as independent HART input loops.

The dual pulse input with level A pulse integrity check is for the connected meter. Alternatively, two (2) serial ports can be used for meters with an RS232/RS485 interface.

Most importantly, to cater for the kind of measurement in a high performance calibration system, there are a number of digital inputs with which signals from prover detector switches or other highly time-critical signals can be measured utilizing internal 64-bit high frequency counters and dual chronometry.

The processing power of the flow module is impressive with an AGA-8 compressibility calculation executed in less than 2 ms.

Its dual ethernet interface allows for redundant applications with a high data throughput to the supervisory computers.

These versatile specifications of input signals make the Flow-X series much more than just traditional flow computers.

The Flow-X series are available in a range of hardware configurations, including single or dual stream rack-mounted models, a four (4) stream panel mounted model, and an eight-stream (8) rack mounted version for usage in 19" racks.
