eXLerate new software release

eXLerate 2003 rev 2.10.126

software binderOur software development team is proud to announce the latest release of eXLerate, in which functionality is further extended with several features, such as support for runtime dongles, extended communication protocol support, OPC server improvements, and more.

Below the most important features are described.

Dongle with runtime license

Because various customers have requested us to fully support hardware- based dongles instead of the existing software based licenses, our latest revision of eXLerate V2.10.126 now fully supports hardware based runtime licenses in addition to the existing license system.

The advantage of a runtime dongle is the fact that the running End User License Agreement (EULA) can be simply moved from one computer to another computer which both may have eXLerate pre-installed. In case of a computer failure, a spare computer with eXLerate pre-installed can be made operational within secdongleonds.

Because of this enhanced license model, an extended runtime license system had to be implemented. A new authorization code must be obtained for new as well as for existing systems in order to be able to run eXLerate V2.10.126.

So, if you would like to upgrade your runtime copy of eXLerate to the new revision V2.10.126, please send your existing license info to Spirit IT and we will supply you with a new and free authorization code. New systems automatically receive a new license.

This inconvenience should be a minor operation taking only a few seconds to execute.

Improved VFC Support

Since its release V2.09.125 last year, eXLerate is equipped with all functions to implement a true Virtual Flow Computer (VFC). A fair alternative for a traditional flow computer based system, especially in combination with a full-blown HMI.

The built-in Virtual Flow Computing functions in eXLerate usually operate on industrial hardware controllers to obtain real-time values for the connected 4-20mA analog, digital, and frequency inputs.

The inputs from the hardware are transferred to the eXLerate VFC application, where each metering stream is processed by an individual calculation and presentation worksheet containing a selected choice of the required VFC calculations, such as accurate eternal/period totalizers, and AGA/ISO/API/GPA calculations.

Since the software internally uses the double precision floating point formats throughout the entire application, high accuracy is ensured over the calculated flow results.

The unique combination of redundancy, HMI, flow metering calculations and report generator integrated in a single software product enables development of a complete one-stop solution.

OPC Server

You may or may not be aware of the fact that eXLerate offers a free OPC Server in all editions. This means that on each computer running eXLerate, an OPC (DA 2.05) Server is available to allow easy data exchange with external systems such as a DCS, or another OPC Client system.

Our OPC Server is totally free of charge on all editions, including Standalone Edition, the Server Edition, and surprisingly also in Client Editions of eXLerate.

This feature is made available for maximum flexibility for complex system architectures.

Communication protocol updates

Various communication protocol drivers have been updated: the Modbus Slave driver is updated with improved response on test commands, and the UNIFORM protocol is updated with the 4-path meter protocol, so that the direct interface with such meters is available in eXLerate.
