Good Industrial Design 2009 Award

The remarkable design of the Flow-X series of flow computers has recently been awarded during the "Good Industrial Design Awards" 2009, which is an official recognition of the ergonomic and superb overall design quality of our new products by this industrial design authority.

Surprisingly this is the first time in history ever (!) that a flow computer for the oil and gas industry has been awarded by the jury of an independent design institute for its versatel design, as usually not much priority is given to the ergonomic aspects of such a product by most manufacturers.

To have a shot at this award, the design of the Flow-X series of flow computers had to meet several strict demands based on looks, ergonomic usage, functionality, originality and durable use of materials.

The jury of the committee highly appreciated its intuitive design and user friendly interface, that altogether created a distinguishing and quite remarkable product.

For winning this award, we would also like to thank our partner Pilots Product Design. 

"Although an attractive design itself was not the only target of our new series of flow computers, this award again illustrates that our new product family sets a new and promising standard for flow computers.

Where most competitive products lack ergonomic design, our aim was to establish a new industry standard, and not only because of its attractive design, but at every level and aspect of the product, including its extreme accuracy, user friendliness, overall versatile usage, and the unrivaled software capabilities. 

We may perhaps be seen as relative new players in the global market regarding flow computers, but our products are preceived quite well by the industry, which looks promising after the major efforts we have put in the product development", said Harry Kok, CEO of Spirit IT.

The "Good Industrial Design Awards" is not the only prize that Spirit IT received. A couple of months ago, the company also have won the "IRO Innovation Award 2009", from the Dutch brand organization for the oil and gas industry, the IRO.
