Flow-X/P: Panel Mounted Flow Computer
When a panel mounted single- or a multi-stream flow computer is required with a large 7" color touch screen, then the Flow-X/P touch-screen flow computer is your first choice.
With an impressive count of inputs and outputs, a 4-stream Flow-X/P4 offers supreme measurement technology in quality and quantity!
Multi-stream machine
The Flow-X/P multi-stream flow computer contains besides the 1 to 4 stream modules, a station module with integrated color touch-screen, fast 32-bit processor, math co-processor, flash memory, 1GB storage memory, 3 additional serial RS232/RS485 interfaces and 2 TCP/IP Ethernet ports. These interfaces are all accessible at the back of the unit by means of RJ45 and SUB-D connectors.
The 7" color touch-screen can be used horizontally as well as vertically which allows the user to use the flow computer in both directions.
Cabinets can be hence built to any requirement of the end-user.
Up to four (4) separate Flow-X/M flow modules can be inserted from the side into the unit. With the station module at the front, a complete multi-stream flow computer is realized. Free-programmable and as versatile as required.
The three (3) additional serial RS232/RS485 ports can be used for station-type functionality such as serial connections to gas chromatographs, or Modbus interfaces for DCS and supervisory computers. The communication protocols for the station module are, like all other serial ports in the stream modules, free configurable.
Station functions
The station module can be used for typical station functions such as chromatograph processing and distribution, or station totalization etc. and is identically configured with the Flow-Xpress configuration software as stream modules.
As each individual stream module is a self-contained and certified flow computer for oil and gas applications combinations can be made for both oil and gas streams into a single multi-stream flow computer application.
The stream- and station modules are fully synchronized with each other in terms of calculation cycle to obtain a consistent flow computation for all streams.
Two TCP/IP Ethernet ports can be used for redundant connection of the flow computer to external systems. An embedded web-server allows for remote access to the flow computer data.
The Flow-Xpress configuration software transparently utilizes all modules and the station module and allows the development of one single flow computer application in a single workbook.
Since all inputs, outputs, serial interfaces etc. are shared on the internal data bus, a most flexible flow computer is created where each stream/station module can freely access inputs, outputs, serial interfaces and calculated results of each other.
The synchronized multi-processor approach allows for powerful applications as there are in fact up to five processors running in parallel.
Impressive amount of I/O
More than a sufficient amount of inputs and outputs are available in one single enclosure. In a four (4) stream Flow-X/P4 machine, in total twenty-four (24) analog inputs are available, sixteen (16) independent HART loops, sixty-four (64) digital signals, two (2) Ethernet connections, eleven (11) serial ports, and more!
These field and Ethernet signals are accessible from the back of the computer, via RJ45, 37-pin SUB-D and 9-pin SUB-D connectors.
