Processing Report Data

Report data can be additionally processed in eXLerate, for further processing, or for conversion of the text reports into advanced, graphically oriented reports, with embedded company logo's, or any other kind of layout enhancements.

In fact, all data in the report can be inserted into the real-time database of eXLerate. Report contents can be scanned for certain output, so that the report contents can be fully processed from within the familiar eXLerate environment.

Within eXLerate, Flow-Xprint functionality can be added by configuration of our VPM (Virtual Printer Manager) communication protocol, and a VPM application file.

Using the VPM protocol driver, data in a report can be treated identical to other data obtained from other drivers such as Modbus drivers. This offers a wide range of application for the VPM, as report data can be treated as any other input.

For example, a device with text-only output over a serial interface can be configured from within eXLerate as a 'report', so that the data can be simply integrated in the application.
