Reporting Challenges

  • Frustrated by the inability to produce your hard copy Custody Transfer Reports on-time from flow computers?
  • Having difficulty maintaining serial printers, ink cartridges or fan-fold paper?
  • Limited report storage on your aged flow computers?
  • Is your Sarbanes Oxley compliance dependent on the successful retrieval of Hard Copy flow computer reports?

Flow-Xprint - Our NMi approved Custody Transfer Report Manager is the answer!

In compliance with the "Metrologiewet" (Stb 2006, 137) the Dutch implementation of the Directive 2004/22/EC for measuring instruments (MID).

Hard-copy Printing

In many custody transfer metering systems, the hard-copied physically printed paper tickets as generated from flow computers are, even today, the only acceptable custody transfer reports with metrological approvals.

Despite these requirements, ticket printers are not very popular, due to the maintenance aspects of the printer itself, and the challenges associated with archiving and processing of paper-only based reports.

Superb Printing Solution

Our Custody Transfer Report Manager ‘Flow-Xprint’ is a modern and true replacement for such ticket printers. Our software is specifically developed for the hard copy reporting needs of the oil & gas custody transfer industry.

Instead of using ticket printers in a metering system, our Report Manager is a much better and fully NMi/MID approved replacement for such printers.

Safe Serial Output Capture

The serial printer output (RS232/RS485/ RS422) from flow computers, batch controllers or other equipment is captured by our Flow-Xprint and stored and archived on the local hard-disk after being safely encrypted. All that is necessary is to disconnect your old printer at the flow computer serial port and reconnect to a simple PC running our Report Manager software.

How it works

Reports are “virtually” printed to files on the PC instead of paper as normal, without modifications to the flow computer software, configuration or investment in a large IT infrastructure.

Reports are stored on the PC hard drive and can be accessed at any time and printed on the freely available printers of today. Just like your current hard paper copy, these reports cannot be electronically edited, changed or deleted for audit trail compliance. Any report that is re-printed is noted as such on the report.

The reports can be printed locally, sent to a network printer or transferred to any file transfer device, such as a USB stick or drive for printing at another location. The file format is fully tamper-proof; it is not possible to change archived tickets.

The separate Viewer utility can be used on any computer to view the reports, and to physically (re-)print the reports on any printer. Read more [here].
